Numerous global carriers are restoring their flights to various parts of the Middle East as a diplomatic contribution to ending conflicts. Istanbul-Kuwait flights will resume between Istanbul Airport (IST) and Kuwait International Airport (KWI), with Terminal 4 used for major international departures and arrivals. What had actually led to the suspension of Istanbul-Kuwait flights?
On February 8, Turkish Airlines announced the suspension of flights to Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, and other Middle Eastern destinations. These restrictions on airspace were imposed following the Israel-US attack on Iran, avoiding the area of global tension, which was also stated on the turkish airlines website as well. This attack and retaliation caused the biggest airspace disruption, ever since the COVID-19 pandemic. By March, firms managing travel data and aviation agencies estimated that thousands of flights were canceled or rerouted over just a few days, as airlines raced to reopen these closed corridors.
